Dr. Franklin N. Tessler

Dr. Franklin N. Tessler joins AIBx as Chief Medical Advisor.

Dr. Tessler is the world’s foremost authority in thyroid ultrasonography. Currently, he is the Professor Emeritus in the department of radiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He chaired the committee that developed the American College of Radiology's Thyroid Imaging, Reporting, and Data System in 2017. He is also leading The International Thyroid Nodule Ultrasound Working Group. This group aims to create a universal system to guide thyroid nodule management based on ultrasound.

Dr. Tessler also holds the position of Senior Medical Officer for Health System Information Services and Vice Chair of the Information Security Advisory Committee. In these roles he has supervised multiple health IT projects and worked with many startups.
